I started work as a teacher in remote one-teacher schools in
rural South Australia. After three years teaching primary grades
(reception through year 7) in country and city schools, I returned to
Adelaide University for a further three years of full-time study. That
then gave me the necessary qualifications to work as an educational
psychologist in the State Department of Education. 1975 was my
induction year in that work.
During my first training course in Hypnotherapy I started in
Private Practice (1976).
For a brief period I taught in the Educational Psychology
program for trainee teachers at the University of South Australia.
I co-led weekend residential group therapy courses run on
behalf of the Human Resource Centre during the 1980's.
Early in the 1990's I was employed as the institutional
psychologist for the Adelaide Remand Centre.
Over a three year period I worked as group therapist,
counsellor and conducted forensic assessments for the Sex Offender
Treatment and Assessment Program of the South Australian Health
Commission.
For the past 15 years I have offered EAP (Employee
Assistance Programs) and Trauma Services in a consultant capacity to
national companies.
I have provided a private consultancy over the past 21 years
in central Yorke Peninsula where I visit fortnightly.
